MESSAGE FROM THE UFUSA
Please note that the above (other than the clipart) are excerpts from the CiVS Report which has been received by the UFUSA this evening. The full report will be posted on the UFUSA Website ASAP.
Firefighters are congratulated for participating in this ballot in record numbers (85.6% participation rate compared with only 44% in the recent TAFE EA ballot) with a huge majority of 83% of those voting sending a decisive message about our worth to current and future governments as we now gear up to collectively fight on for wage justice!
SAFETY AND RESOURCING CAMPAIGN ESCALATES?
Meanwhile it’s important to keep raising our voices and the Safety and Resourcing Campaign website is now up and running (see link below) which outlines firefighters’ issues, needs, and asks in the forthcoming State election. There is also a letter template on the website which can very quickly and easily be completed to send to your local candidates (put in your postcode and they’ll be identified for you). Or you can write your own personal message. Please also ask all supporters to help.
This election is critical for firefighters as it determines who will set policy as employer for the next 4 years and beyond on firefighter safety, resourcing, wages and conditions. Thank you to all of you who have already taken this action, you are sending a strong message and we hope that others will support you and raise the volume of our voices. Now is the time for action.
Members are also urged to share our social media posts to further raise community awareness and the profile of our campaign to ensure maximum impact
Together we can make a difference!
