Results have been received from the Enterprise Agreement ballot.
I am pleased to advise members that the result of the vote is a resounding ‘yes’, with 85.7 percent of eligible workers returning a ballot and of those 88.5 percent voting in favour of the proposed agreement.
This is a very strong endorsement of what is a very strong enterprise agreement bargaining outcome. Members stood up during our campaign, and were strong, disciplined and unified and should be proud of the results.
With the agreement having received support from our membership, we will now set about the work necessary to seek approval of the agreement at the South Australian Employment Tribunal (‘SAET’). Please remember: an agreement is not effective until approved by the SAET. As a result of upcoming public holidays and leave taken by Tribunal staff it is unlikely that approval will be given instantly, and so some further patience will likely be required. The Agreement includes provision for back pay for any delay beyond the first full pay period after 1 January.
