FIREFIGHTER MESSAGE LOUD AND CLEAR
Congratulations to UFU members on a wildly successful and courteous protest at the ALP Convention yesterday; a huge thank you to all members and families (and fur babies) who were able to participate at such short notice. It was impossible to count the numbers present but it was certainly hundreds.
We are also very grateful to the members of other unions who joined us in solidarity, outside the venue including unionists from the CFMEU, AMWU, AEA, CEPU and UWU.
It was a magnificent turn out and the spirit was certainly strong – the pictures say it all really.
Our message to the government is loud and clear and while it’s heartening to hear from them that the matter is under consideration with a potentially renewed offer within the next few weeks, with great respect, we have heard this before. Our correspondence to the Premier has made it clear that our door is always open for discussions. Meanwhile we remain resolute as our campaign continues.
