SENIOR FIREFIGHTER QUALIFIED LEVEL 2 UPDATE LIFTING OF BANS

UFUSA News

Further to Wordback No 45/2021 issued this morning, the UFU is pleased to report that correspondence has been received from the employer this afternoon which now commits to implementation of all the recommendations of the SA Employment Tribunal of 1 November 2021.

Accordingly, all bans will be lifted from change of shift at 08:00 hours Wednesday, 10 November 2021.

A meeting is also being sought with the employer consistent with the recommendations as a priority, to conduct discussions between the parties to seek a resolution to the dispute.

Members are advised that while the UFU will not take further industrial action while the employer is compliant with the recommendations, our union has reserved our position that in the event of any non-compliance by the employer, further industrial action may be implemented.

Thank you all for your strength, solidarity and resolution in regard to this matter and we will keep you informed of any progress.
