Enterprise Agreement update!
An update that we’re sure all members have been awaiting: we are currently expecting that the final version of the Enteprise Agreement will be released to eligible workers on Monday 15 December 2025, with a ballot to commence on Thursday 18 December 2025 and to conclude on 29 December 2025.
I use the word expecting, because experience is teaching me not to trust anything to go smoothly when relying upon Government negotiators. Still, we are on the home stretch. I thank members again for their patience, but the quality of the agreement is significantly better from having taken the time to get the clauses right.

Final call: Annual General Meeting
Members are reminded that the AGM is tomorrow, to be held at the union’s office. It’s not too late to RSPV to info@ufusa.com.au
Secretary Max Adlam will be on deck to deliver the Secretary’s report. We hope to see many of you there.
I will lift the lid on some of the embargoed enterprise agreement details for those who attend (including the pay scale), and so if you’re interested in seeing the numbers before Monday make sure you get along.
New State Councillor
On Friday last week State Council accepted the resignation of Rachel Eisen. Pursuant to rule 43(c)(ii) State Council determined that the position would be filled by the candidate with the next highest number of votes in the most recent election for the balance of the term, and accordingly the position has been offered to and accepted by Andrew Bell.
We welcome him back to State Council, and look forward to working with him again.

Marine Review
The work on the long-awaited Marine Review commenced last month, decades after the first promises for a review were made.
We were happy to be able to attend a voyage of the vessel alongside the reviewers, Chief Officer, and Deputy Chief, and to participate in consultation meetings alongside members.
Recognising that not every stakeholder would have had the opportunity to participate in the processes to date, the union has ensured that there will be an extended window for relevant workers to have their say. If you are such a worker, and would like to provide further feedback to the review, please contact our office at first instance and we will provide you with the relevant forms. The reviewers have asked that all additional feedback be provided by 26 January 2026.
In Solidarity,
