Superannuation Scheme
SA Metropolitan Fire Service Superannuation Scheme
The SA Metropolitan Fire Service Superannuation Scheme was established in 1974 and is run for the benefit of current, past and retired employees of the SA Metropolitan Fire Service.
State Council appoints Superannuation Board Trustees members on behalf of the UFUSA and also allows for Proxy delegates.
The Scheme provides a range of comprehensive insurance, retirement benefit and investment options and is overseen by an independent Trustee board comprising of both employer and United Fire Fighter Union representatives. The funding responsibility of the defined benefit is borne by the members who also share in actuarial surpluses when they might arise. The Scheme offers industry best practice benefits and continues to protect members from investment market volatility and personal injury and illness.
